The client's need
Visa Europe were looking for travel content to further their travel offering on their corporate site - not only to offer information on using your credit card abroad, but where to go and where to spend. This content was also offered DTC on their newly launched consumer-facing website at the end of 08. The intention was for VE to form a more direct relationship with their consumer, and create a destination website offering a unique travel content set.
The DK Eyewitness Travel solution
We edited and delivered 50 city guides, which contained all essential travel tips for the world's best travel destinations. This key info was complemented by stunning DK images. As well as this, we offered a monthly 'special', which was a downloadable pdf guide, themed according to destination - so "Food Lover's Guide to Paris," "Shopping Weekend in Hong Kong," etc. These specials ran for six months, and were then replaced by downloadable audio city guides. These were given a VE introduction and covered top cities from London, Barcelona and Rome. In 2010, the content set will be changing to Travel: Where to Go when.
The results
A beautiful and entirely new travel offering for VBA with pleasing download figures and positive feedback from users.
